Tapion Sulka’s ranking-events are for all the members of the club, no age or skill limits. The competition is playful and free of charge and you can find a lot of beginners as well as competitive players attending the events. Everybody gets to play against same skill level opponents and gets at least three matches in their group. This is a great way to get playing experience and enjoy badminton.
The venue for the ranking-events is Esport Center (Koivu-mankkaan tie 3, Espoo). You should register for the competition on Tapion Sulka’s myClub latest on the day before the competition at 6.00 pm.
Unlike before, it is no longer possible to register for the event at Esport Center on the day of the competition. If your have problems with myClub event registration, register by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All the attending players are divided into groups of four, five or six by their current ranking. The group sizes depend on the number of registrants. The matches start at 10am. Be at the hall early enough so you will have time to warm-up before the matches start. The events takes about 3-4 hours, so you might want to take some snacks with you.
Matches are played with players' own shuttles. You are supposed to bring your own shuttles, but usually it is also possible to buy shuttles at the hall from the organizers.
Your placement on the ranking-list changes depending on how your matches turn out.
