Tapion Sulka’s office will be closed from 23 June to 10 July and from 16 to 28 July. We will respond to all info@tapionsulka.fi messages in mid-July and after the holiday period - apologies for possible delays.

We wish everyone a happy summer – see you in August, as the new season starts on 10 August!

The Board of Tapion Sulka ry has decided to establish a fund named after the club’s late Executive Director and coach, Lasse Lindelöf. The fund provides grants to goal-oriented club players. Fundraising for the fund is currently underway (small-scale fundraising permit RA/2026/736). Grant activities are planned to begin in autumn 2026 if the fundraising is succesfull.

  • Lasse Lindelöf’s contribution to Tapion Sulka and its community spirit was immense. He coached hundreds of current and former hobby and competitive players and inspired in them a deep passion for badminton. We want to continue Lasse’s wonderful work and, through the fund, create opportunities for juniors and adults to pursue goal-oriented training and competition, says club chairperson Laura Vokkolainen.

The fund is maintained by Tapion Sulka ry and administered by a committee appointed by the club’s Board. Decisions on grants are made by the Board. More information about the fund’s purpose and grant applications is available at www.tapionsulka.fi/rahasto.

Fundraising for the Lasse Lindelöf Fund is ongoing (small-scale fundraising permit RA/2026/736). The club gratefully accepts donations from individuals and companies to support the club’s players. Donations can be made to bank account: FI2322901800029780  (NDEAFIHH). For more information, please contact the club’s Executive Director Tarja Arkio, tarja@tapionsulka.fi, 040 541 0850.

Welcome to play in one of the largest badminton clubs in Finland!

During Tapion Sulka’s autumn season 2026, we offer hobby groups for everyone from beginners to competitive players, from Monday to Friday! The hobby group season starts on 10 August and continues until 18 December. We have renewed the skill levels for both junior and adult hobby groups, and the levels in use are Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced. The junior age groups for the season are 8–11, 11–14, and 14–17 years.

In addition, the youngest players can join Minisulkis (ages 6–8) and Family Badminton (ages 4–6). For adults, we offer familiar favourites such as Medium Intensity and High Intensity sessions! Short courses will also continue in the autumn. A new addition this year is the Senior Badminton morning group — more information coming soon! All hobby groups train at Esport Center, right next to the Urheilupuisto metro station.

And once again next season, members can take part in the club’s monthly ranking tournaments. Welcome to one of the largest badminton communities in Finland!

On Saturday 6 June we will play the traditional doubles ranking tournament at Esport, and for the first time ever the unofficial Tapion Sulka Cottage Badminton Championships in Silkkiniitty. More information and registration links are below. Please note that the deadline for registration is 4 June at 16h00. You may participate in only one or in both events for free!

Doubles Ranking 6 June at 10–14 https://tapionsulka.myclub.fi/flow/events/10761828

The dress code is free – you can come as a fairy tale character, a badminton player, or in any imaginative outfit you like. You and your partner decide! Please note that both players must register - please write your partner's name on the extra field in myClub. Non-members must register via email to info@tapionsulka.fi (write your name, age, level Hobby/Competitive and partners name). Non-members pay 10€ event-fee via MobilePay at the venue. The registration deadline is 4 June at 16h00.

Depending on the number of participants, the playing format may change, but here is the preliminary plan:

  • Separate Hobby and Competitive levels
  • Pools of four pairs, a total of twelve pools – at least three matches for everyone!
  • Matches are played to 15 points. No extra points are played. Therefore a game ends at 15–14 at the latest. Two game wins are required to win the match.
  • Cup draw to start, with one to two pairs from each pool advancing depending on the number of participants

Cottage Badminton Championships 6 June at 14.30–17.30 in Silkkiniitty, Tapiola (nearest address Opintie 3) https://tapionsulka.myclub.fi/flow/events/10764601

The first-ever unofficial TS Cottage Badminton Championships will be played outdoors, rain or shine! Equipment will be provided by the club. The playing field is uneven and may include surprises, so leave your best competition shoes at home. In Silkkiniitty you can also play ultimate, football and more, and light picnic snacks will be available.

  • Five to ten minute timed games depending on the number of participants
  • Division into Competitive and Hobby levels
  • Free serve, the point winner serves, otherwise normal rules (triple contact allowed...)
  • At least three games per participant, the best players advance based on points

Join the fun, se you on the 6th of June!
