The tournament is high level as all junior elites but also a great place for new juniors who are interested in competing. The hall is familiar, we have a lot of coaches there to help and cheer for the players and competition is also free of charge for the members of our club (who are also representing our club).
How to join the competition as a first timer:
BUYING THE LICENSE
Since the competition is an official Badminton Federation licensed competition, participants need a competition license. The license is purchased from the Suomisport.fi website, licenses are sold as one-time licenses (entitled to only one competition) and as season licenses (valid until June). When buying a license, the player gets their own player number (MemberID), which is needed in the next step.
REGISTER TO TOURNAMENT SOFTWARE
The competition calendar, competition registrations, competition draw and schedule and results can all be found on the same website, badmintonfinland.tournamentsoftware.com. When registering for the first time on the site, you have to create an account, which will always be used when doing registrations in the future. To create the account, you need the MemberID (player number) from the license purchase. It may take a few hours to log in the license before the account can be created in the tournament software. After signing in, you can register for competitions.

REGISTER TO THE COMPETITION
Registration is done on the competition page (link above) from the red button in the upper right corner. Select the lowest age categories that are available for your player (U9 = 2016, U11 = 2015&2014, U13 = 2012&2013, U15 = 2010&2011, etc.). PK/BS means boys' singles, TK/GS means girls' singles, PN&TN / BD&GD means doubles, SN/XD means mixed doubles. You can register for singles games by yourself, and you can also register for doubles either with a partner (the partner must also register and choose you as a partner) or as an open / I'm looking for a partner. In this case, the tournament organizer will match you with another person registered in the same category as an open player. The draw and the schedule will be published on the same competition page at the beginning of the competition week.
